Dr Godwin Balasingam, Senior Regulatory Affairs Advisor
Dr Godwin Balasingam completed his graduate and post graduate studies in Australia and New Zealand. He holds a BSc from the Australian National University and attained an MSc and PhD from Massey University in New Zealand. Dr Balasingam is a regulatory specialist and serves as a Senior Advisor on Food Safety, Biosecurity and Regulatory Affairs for QNFSP. Prior to joining the QNFSP, Dr Balasingam served as a Chief Technical Advisor and Lead Consultant in Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) capacity development projects for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations and the New Zealand Agency for International Development (NZAID) in seventeen countries in South East Asia, South Asia and the Middle East over the last decade. Prior to working for the international development agencies, Dr Balasingam worked as Senior National Advisor for the Biosecurity Authority, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Wellington, New Zealand.
