The Food Safety and Environmental Health division in the Department of Public Health operates under the Supreme Council of Health (SCH). The division's Central Food Laboratories analyze different food items received officially for physical, chemical, microbiological and radiation level parameters to determine their compliance with established standards and specifications. The Food Safety and Environmental Health division has been working with the QNFSP on conducting an audit of all institutions, inspection facilities, laboratories, standards and other Food Safety related items in Qatar. Additionally the Division has been in charge of investigating how existing models in other countries can be replicated in Qatar once the QNFSP is operational.
