Renewable Energy
The QNFSP will be utilizing a variety of clean energy sources and carbon reduction schemes to enable sustainable and environmentally-friendly operation. In addition, the QNFSP will initiate the development of a renewable energy sector in the country by promoting local demand for renewable energy to stimulate the manufacture of renewable technologies. This will be accompanied by measures to develop the necessary research and development activities required for long-term development of these industries.
The QNFSP renewable energy policy approach actively supports diversification of the country’s economy and actively contributes to the goals stated in Qatar’s National Vision of 2030, aiming to reduce the country’s economic dependency on hydro-carbon resources, develop environmental sustainability, and create a knowledge-based society.
